Our client, a major supplier of petroleum products, is hiring a Project Director with strong FEED experience in Tacoma, WA on a contract basis.

Job Summary:
The Project Director is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of a project's lifecycle, from conception to completion. The Project Director is accountable for the successful delivery of project within scope, budget, and schedule, while ensuring high-quality standards and meeting, or exceeding, company HSE requirements. The Project Director collaborates with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders, project managers, team members, and contractors and subcontractors to ensure effective project execution and achieve company, project, and stakeholder objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Strategy:
Develop project plans, goals, and objectives in collaboration with stakeholders.
Define project scope, deliverables, and success criteria.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of project budgets and schedules.
- Project Execution and Control:
Leads project team, providing guidance, oversight, and support.
Is accountable for the development of a facility that meets or exceeds all company, site, and regulatory agency HSE requirements. Leads, and is accountable for, the project HSE program throughout project lifecycle.
Monitors project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and deliverables.
Manage project resources effectively, including personnel, budget, and equipment.
Implement quality control processes and ensure project compliance with regulations and company standards.
Conduct regular project status meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders and the project team.
- Stakeholder Management:
Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Communicate project objectives, progress, and challenges to stakeholders.
Address stakeholder concerns and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Negotiate and resolve conflicts, both within the team and with external parties.
- Risk Management:
Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Monitor and assess project risks throughout the lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Performance Evaluation and Reporting:
Evaluate project performance against established metrics and goals.
Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Demonstrated experience (15 years) in industrial project management roles. Has experience as a Project Director/Manager.
Demonstrated experiences in project development (FEED), through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project start-up.
Experiences in managing large industrial projects (>$300MM TIC).
Experiences in Refining, Chemicals, Fertilizers, or Renewable energy unit operations preferred.
Experience in management of process/pipe rack module fabrication management preferred.
Experiences in managing contractor and subcontractor relationships during execution as well as contract/change order negotiations.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Compensation: $70-$100/hour depending on experience.
