Project Manager – Manufacturing

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide project leadership and strategic direction at our Mount Jewett, Pennsylvania, Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) manufacturing facility.
This onsite position will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing engineering and capital projects from initial concept through design, construction, commissioning, startup, and final documentation. The Project Manager will work closely with internal departments, external engineering firms, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop capital investment proposals, project scopes of work, cost estimates, execution plans, and supporting documentation.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee project activities, including design, construction, installation, commissioning, startup, and project closeout.
  • Track and report project costs, schedules, progress, and deliverables.
  • Lead cross-functional, multidisciplinary project teams, including external engineering firms, contractors, and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules while monitoring progress against established milestones.
  • Ensure appropriate field technical support, construction management resources, and project systems are in place to support successful execution.
  • Promote project success while maintaining a strong focus on environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and procurement teams to support project execution and material requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable internal policies, industry standards, and environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Provide regular project updates and communicate risks, challenges, and progress to key stakeholders.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, engineering technology, construction management, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience successfully leading and implementing engineering or capital projects.
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time to support projects at other manufacturing facilities, as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project or comparable project scheduling software.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Experience using EcoSys or similar project management and cost-control software.
  • Experience in the Medium Density Fiberboard or wood-products industry.
  • Seven or more years of experience in manufacturing.
  • PMP certification.
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated project management experience, including project development, planning, and execution.


Work Environment

  • Location: Mount Jewett, Pennsylvania
  • Work Arrangement: Fully onsite
  • Travel: Up to 15%, based on project requirements
