The Turnaround Planner is a contract position working under client's technical direction, policies, and procedures. The role is responsible for developing detailed job plans and field execution packages for turnaround mechanical and multi-craft work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed job plans including work steps, durations, manpower, materials, equipment, safety requirements, costs, drawings, specifications, and scheduling.
  • Plan and coordinate mechanical work involving fixed equipment, piping, welding, electrical, instrumentation, rotating equipment, analyzers, and related systems.
  • Coordinate with schedulers, contractors, operations, and execution teams to develop, optimize, and monitor turnaround schedules.
  • Conduct field walkdowns to identify isolation, scaffolding, insulation, material, and equipment requirements; mark up drawings as needed.
  • Break scope into executable work steps, estimate costs and hours, and validate plans with contractors and field personnel.
  • Support critical-path analysis, milestone planning, look-ahead schedules, and integrated turnaround schedule development.
  • Monitor field progress, troubleshoot execution issues, incorporate approved changes, and update job plans accordingly.
  • Participate in turnaround reviews, peer assists, PSSR activities, post-turnaround walkdowns, and lessons-learned/best-practice implementation.
  • Verify contractor readiness, material availability, work packages, bid awards, logistics, mobilization/demobilization, and other turnaround requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication regarding scope changes, budgets, schedules, contractor utilization, and critical-path activities.
  • Prepare detailed work packages that enable field crews to perform work safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of turnaround planning experience in the petrochemical industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Primavera and MS Project.
