Project Buyer (Small Capital Projects) 

Client: Manufacturing Plant 
Location: Remote with some travel to North Carolina
Duration: Long term, contract to permanent

The Small Capital Project Buyer has an important role in the Procurement Organization with the responsibility for the sourcing and safety compliance of construction services, large capital equipment, and manufacturing plant capital equipment services while reducing cost and to meet organizations goals and objectives for client company.  This person will be responsible for managing and communicating the requirements of the projects to the contractor and vendor base with clear and concise scopes of work, specifications, project timelines needed and performance expectations. This will include managing and executing RFP events, assisting with creating final contract documents and executing documents for the projects.

Job Description:
In collaboration with other Project Buyers (Covering all client Company's Regions) the team will oversee the negotiation and sourcing of major equipment and services, creating contract packages and issuing Contracts or Purchase Orders for the Small Capital Projects team.
Per Client Company's Procurement Guidelines, the Project Buyer will reduce cost, limit corporate liability and contribute to successfully meeting projects timelines on time and under budget.  The successful candidate for this position has experience with Construction Projects and a strong understanding of complex supply chains, Procurement and Purchasing concepts.

Responsibilities:
*    Support and implement Procurement leadership cost saving initiatives.
*    Support Procurement leadership with consolidating vendors and contractors by developing synergies within the organization to achieve optimum cost savings.
*    Optimize contract creation cycle times thru the supply base with approved and preferred vendors.
*    Measure and hold suppliers accountable for performance under contract.
*    Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open agreements.
*    Evaluate category spend for accuracy and potential cost savings.
*    Work with the Project management team to ensure that all equipment deliveries satisfy the project delivery schedule.
*    Coordinate with project accounting to ensure pricing/invoicing accuracy and assist with Invoicing discrepancies.
*    Support of Procurement's leadership to implement continuous improvement to procedures ensuring effectiveness of the Procurement process.
*    Effectively communicate future or potential supply disruptions throughout the organization.
*    Promote safety initiatives and enforce the organization's safety policies.
*    Promote the use of Client Company's Procurement Guidelines (EPG) and Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS).

  Qualifications:
*    2  years Construction, Engineering, Business degree or related - Desirable
*    Strong Background and Skills on Commercial Negotiations and Contracts.
*    Professional Level of experience in the construction and manufacturing industry is desirable.
*    Basic knowledge on MRP systems.
*    2+ years of experience in purchasing of construction services, large capital equipment, negotiation of terms and conditions, contract scope creation/contract management or related areas required.
*    Understanding of Microsoft D365 (Desirable), Proficiency with MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word.
