***ACTUAL POSITION TITLE: SENIOR PROPERTY TAX ANALYST***

HM is looking for people with business personal property tax experience.

Position Title: Senior Property Tax Analyst
Number of open positions: 1
Pay Rate: $32.46 - $52.89/hr. DOE
Assignment Length: 12-18 months
Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Temp to Hire : Yes (based on Performance)
Assignment Location (Address): Houston, TX. (Hybrid)

HM is NOT looking for candidates with the following:
* Real estate, processing property taxes, mortgage loan experience
* Individual tax return (Ex: H&R Block) experience
* Unsteady work history
* Consultants that only have short term projects
* Consulting companies that have a bad reputation
* High level candidates (Ex: COO, VP, etc.)
* Resume is 2+ pages

Business Areas Responsibilities
Key Job Responsibilities
● Review data gathered from accounting and operational groups for analyzing taxable assets
● Prepare and timely file annual property tax returns to the proper assessing authorities.
● Review assessment notices for accuracy and participates in value discussions with the tax assessing authority as needed.
● Collaborate with the Property Tax Director where taxable value appeals are needed.
● Assist in appeal preparation and, as needed, attend appeal-level hearings.
● Assist the Property Tax Analyst with posting noticed values, calculating estimated tax liability, and processing tax payments.
● Participate in the strategies to minimize tax liabilities and property tax planning
● Research and updates on new or proposed legislation, regulations, and rulings
● Participate in the coordination of all external and internal tax-related audits
● Work effectively with other accounting and operational areas to provide resolution to the customer.
● Strong work ethic with flexibility during the different phases of the tax year
● Maintain strong business relationships with taxing authorities, customers, and 3rd parties.
● Adaptive and flexible to work other duties as assigned by the Director.
● High standard for work product and contribute to the department's goals.

Required Qualifications
Education Requirements
● Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college. A degree in accounting, finance, or economics is preferred.

General Requirements
HM is looking for candidates with 80%+ of listed requirements or they will be rejected:
● Minimum 5 years of experience in the manufacturing or industrial industry.
● Previous experience as a Property Tax Analyst or Representative is preferred.
● Training from recognized appraisal professional organizations on the industrial business property is preferred.
● Experience in property tax with an emphasis on compliance
● Familiar with valuation concepts and their applications
● Strong business acumen
● Ability to accurately plan and analyze company information.
● Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, public officials, and the public
● The ability to complete complex tasks without close supervision
● Work in a team environment to manage multiple, diverse functions of differing priorities to completion
● Strong administrative and organizational skills.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a specific ability to translate complex operational information into an organized and presentable manner
● Proficient in use and applications for MS products, Oracle, and PTMS
