Location: Houston | Remote when not traveling
Travel: ~75% (refinery sites across the U.S.)
Start Date / Duration: ASAP | Long-term contract with extension potential

About the Role

We are supporting our client's Turnaround Team in the search for an experienced Turnaround Scheduler to support the full turnaround lifecycle planning, execution, and closeout across multiple refineries. In this role, you will own Primavera P6 schedules end-to-end and work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, Contractors, and Project Controls.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Schedule Development

  • Lead ownership of assigned Primavera P6 turnaround schedules
  • Develop and maintain logic, calendars, coding, and resources in alignment with corporate TAR standards
  • Integrate job cards and outage-specific scope as provided by Area Leads and planners
  • Manage and document scope changes post–control estimate, ensuring proper approvals
  • Facilitate logic reviews with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, and unit stakeholders
  • Perform resource loading and manpower leveling across all TAR phases
  • Generate workforce histograms for pre-TAR, execution, and post-TAR periods
  • Support hiring plan reviews in coordination with Project Controls

Pre-TAR Progressing & Reporting

  • Input and validate progress updates across pre-TAR, execution, and post-TAR phases
  • Produce weekly progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and schedule health metrics
  • Support estimate development by providing accurate schedule data and man-hour forecasts

Execution / Field Reporting

  • Provide daily execution-phase reporting including look-aheads, progress curves, bar charts, and schedule KPIs
  • Track, integrate, and schedule growth and discovery work in real time
  • Support field verification of progress, constraint resolution, and recovery actions
  • Maintain consistent reporting across shifts and handoffs during execution

Closeout & Benchmarking

  • Deliver schedule performance data to support turnaround closeout and benchmarking
  • Prepare post-TAR summaries, data packages, and lessons learned documentation
  • Support continuous improvement, standardization, and scheduling governance efforts

Training, Mentoring & Standards

  • Mentor planners and schedulers on Primavera logic development and TAR scheduling standards
  • Support development of planner manuals and reference documentation
  • Troubleshoot scheduling, coding, and logic issues for internal and contractor planning teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of scheduling experience in turnaround, maintenance, industrial, or heavy construction environments
  • Refining or petrochemical turnaround experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 required
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; advanced Excel preferred
  • Experience with SAP or contractor planning systems is a plus
  • Ability to travel approximately 75%, including extended stays during turnaround execution
  • Ability to work in active industrial environments
  • TWIC card required or ability to obtain during onboarding
