Our client, a major refinery, is currently looking for a Wastewater Contact Engineer in Denver, CO.

 

Temporary contract from October 1st, 2025 to May 15th, 2026.

5x8 schedule.

20% in field, 80% in office on average.

 

The Contact Engineer owns a set of process units, providing process engineering knowledge and leadership to support safely meeting the operating plan targets. The successful candidate will provide technical, troubleshooting, and turnaround support in collaboration with operations, maintenance, inspection, reliability, inspection, process safety, and automation. The Contact Engineer proactively generates improvement ideas/projects to promote efficiency and production stability in your process units.

 

Responsibilities:

- Provide technical support for assigned area
- Respond to technical requests from operation personnel, PUT, and other departments
- Perform daily calculations from operational data on unit/area operating parameters and product targets
- Attend meetings relating to operational issues and PUT work priorities
- Initiate Management of Changes (MOC')s, environmental checklists, planning, execution, Pre Safety Startup Reviews (PSSRs), update paperwork
- Provide project support during project design and development as well as execution and startup
- Advise operations on how to improve production through optimization studies
- Lead trouble-shooting efforts on operational issues

 

Requirements:

- 3+ Years of Experience in process engineering for Refinery Wastewater or related industrial operations
- Degree in Chemical Engineering (Other degrees considered if experienced in refinery process/unit operations)
- Requires knowledge in Process Safety Regulations and Processes
- Requires knowledge in applications required to conduct process engineering calculations, designs, simulations.
- Requires knowledge in applications required to complete MOC process, maintenance process, incident Investigations, record management, supply chain processes, etc.
- Requires ability to lead technical change through all steps of innovation, development, risk management, implementation, training, and operation.
- Critical thinking skills, required to devise practical and cost effective solutions to problems.
- Strong consulting skills

 

Hourly wage: $72-$80
