They also operate a leading agriculture retail network that services over 500,000 growers.


A fantastic opportunity exists for a Structural Engineer (Steel) who will oversee the completion of new and upgraded construction projects and ensure structures are durable and safe.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Engineering.


What you will do:


  • Follow all safety standards
  • Ensure new structural designs and installations meets regulations
  • Scheduling or conduction of appropriate inspections, reviewing and reporting
  • Provide field support to Maintenance, Operations and Capital Programs
  • Constructing structures based on technical specification
  • Track project progress and reporting on results
  • Choosing appropriate materials to ensure durability
  • Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including time and scope involved
  • Account for possible project challenges or constraints and proactively seek to manage challenges
  • Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to management and team members
  • Work alongside project management teams to successfully monitor project progress and implementation of initiatives
  • Establish a framework for necessary contributions from various departments and facilitate their collaboration


What you will bring:


  • Bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil or related Engineering discipline
  • Experience in industrial environments
  • 7 - 10 years' experience in a Structural Engineering role
  • Experience developing schematics for structures in accordance with client specifications and safety standards
  • Able to work in a team-based environment
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer
  • Commitment to safety
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Advanced proficiency skills in computer-aided design software, such as AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with CSA Welding Codes
  • Up to date understanding of best practices regarding building safety measures
